Leisure Estates Park (Oceanview Estates Park)

A sign showing the name of the park and the hours that it's open

Leisure Estates Park is a four acre park at the end of Lower Wai'ehu road. There's two baseball fields that face each other, and enough parking for 100 cars. Across the street is Wai'ehu Beach park, if you want to do some beach activities.

Leisure Estates Park gets its name from the subdivision it was built with. What is now Ocean View Estates was formerly called Leisure estates. When this residential area was renamed (somewhere around 2005, but I couldn't find an exact date), nobody thought or bothered to rename the park, so now, even though the subdivision is called Oceanview Estates, the park keeps the old name.

Next the park and beach is the far end of the Wai'ehu Municipal Golf Course. It's possibly the most affordable golf course on Maui, so if that's your thing, head down Kahekili Hwy and turn right at Richard Pablo Caldito Sr. Park to get to the main entrance. If you reach Waihe'e beach park, you've gone just a bit too far.

This is a hardly used park, really (Most cars parked here are across the street, catching waves at the beach). It's a good place to bring your dog off leash (though not necessarily legal). When the wind is strong, I liked to fly kites here as a kid.
